The task force created for revising legal acts regulating activities of the armed forces and developing suggestions held its first session at the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defense on November 15. The session was headed by RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan.

The goal of the task force is to consolidate interested and capable forces for efficient implementation of legislative reforms in the sphere of defense. The activities of the task force are coordinated by RA Deputy Minister of Defense Ara Nazaryan.

In their speeches, RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan and RA Military Prosecutor G. Kostanyan mentioned that the task force's activities are aimed at revising the legal acts regulating the activities of the armed forces or other acts related to the sphere, developing suggestions on making amendments in or additions to the legal acts, as well as conducting studies on crimes committed in the armed forces and present suggestions for eliminating them or reducing their influence. In addition to the competent representatives of the RA Ministry of Defense, the task force will also include interested representatives of the RA Military Prosecutor's Office, the Ombudsman's Office and civil society.

Among participants of the task force's first session were members of the standing committee in charge of preventing violations of the law and reinforcing legitimacy and discipline established by the decree of the RA Minister of Defense.

The committee headed by RA Deputy Minister of Defense Ara Nazaryan, which includes representatives of corresponding subdivisions, will discuss the incidents and extraordinary accidents that have taken place in military units of the RA Armed Forces, the violations of law and discipline that have an impact on the moral-psychological state of the personnel, the causes and conditions that contribute to them, the trends and standards for the growth or reduction of incidents and extraordinary accidents, as well as the directions for reducing corruption risks. Practical suggestions and programs will be developed in order to eradicate the flaws and errors revealed during the discussions.
