BHK candidate beats his Republican contender
Vardan Ghalumyan of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) was elected Mayor of Ijevan city (Tavush Marz) following the Sunday poll.
Ghalumyan's contender, incumbent mayor Varuzhan Nersisyan of the Republican Party had held the office for twelve years.
According to preliminary information out of the 13857 eligible voters, 8712 participated in the poll. Ghalumyan scored 5044 votes while Nersisyan 3406.
The Central Election Commission will publicize the election results a bit later.
