Armenian Parliament Speaker to submit resignation today
Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abahamyan will officially hand in his resignation during today's NA session.
This came after Serzh Sargsyan proposed the NA Speaker to head the election headquarters of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) during the 2012 parliamentary elections. Abahamyan accepted the proposal during the November 1 sitting of the RPA executive body.
The name of the new parliament speaker is expected to be announced on Monday.
Hovik Abahamyan was elected NA Speaker in September 2008.
