Police today rushed to the iron ore in Hrazdan after receiving an alarm from the Chinese Fortune Oil company's Russian representatives. They announced that a group of environmentalists against the ore exploitation were threatening their lives.

One of the "dangerous" environmentalists Yeghia Nersisyan presented "A1+" with the details.

"They told us to leave the ore and called the police. The police realized what was going on. They saw that we were only demanding a license, which they didn't give in the end," the environmental activist said.

He mentioned that despite the bad weather, the drilling continues with four equipments.

The representatives of the group that arrived at the iron ore were members of the "Let's Save Trchkan Waterfall" initiative who will also go against the exploitation of the iron ore in Hrazdan.
Currently, the Chinese Fortune Oil company is conducting geological studies at the iron ore in Hrazdan.

The ore exploitation is a threat for the deterioration of the ecological state of Armenia and the pollution of sources located at a 600-700 m distance from the ore that provide water not only to residents in Hrazdan, but Yerevan as well.
