Lieutenant colonel arrested on bribery charges
A high-ranking official at the Ministry of Defense has been arrested on bribery charges, Ministry's Spokesman David Karapetyan told A1+.
The lieutenant colonel reportedly extorted bribes from the relatives of a soldier, promising ‘to transfer him to a good military unit.'
"A lieutenant colonel is not empowered to settle similar issues," said Karapetyan.
The Investigation Department of the Defense Ministry is expected to provide more details on the arrest later in the day.
