Villages are being emptied
"Poor are the women of our village," this is what women of Geghasar village say as they speak of the absence of their husbands who have left for abroad in search of work and have stayed there for years.
There are 943 people in Geghasar. Half of them are men, and the majority of them have left for Russia. It is hard to find a house where the man of the house or the son is at home.
There are 97 schoolchildren in Geghasar and 10 children are born every year on the average.
The village head says he is concerned that 25-30 families leave the village and leave their parents behind.
