NSS Secretary visits border guards
Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council (NSC) Arthur Baghdasaryan paid a visit to the Gyumri-based Border Control Unit of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSS).
Baghdasaryan met with officers of the military unit at the head of Lieutenant General Victor Vlasov, Head of the board of the Russian frontier troops.
"Armenia has adopted the objective of having safe and secure borders that meet with international standards," Baghdasaryan said emphasizing the close cooperation between the two strategic allies of Armenia and Russia.
Arthur Baghdasaryan also presented awards to several military servicemen for conscientious performance of official duties.
The NSC secretary was also awarded a FSS medal for assisting in resolving the problems of border guards and guaranteeing protection and security of the southern borders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), NSC press office reported.
