The Armenian government has given consent to the plan for the construction of an international logistics center and transport infrastructures near "Zvartnots" International Airport. The plan is one of the components for the creation of a free economic zone and will ensure the transfer of passengers from the highways and Yerevan to the airport through the construction of a new highway and railway.

It is assumed that construction of the logistics center will take three years and will cost 25 million Euros to be provided by the government and private companies. The main beneficiaries are concessions of "Zvartnots" International Airport, the South Caucasus Railway CJSC, the operator at the logistics center and others.
