Deemed it necessary to inform people
If there are people who are committing illegitimate acts in the army with their grants, those acts are obviously unhealthy and the army leaders can't tolerate that," Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said in an interview with "Aravot" daily. He also touched upon the statements regarding the discrepancies between Deputy Defense Ministers David Tonoyan and Vladimir Gasparyan.
"It is obvious that Vladimir Gasparyan has spoken of the possible consequences of illegitimate acts. In this case, seeing discrepancies in the deputy ministers' acts is subjective, and the attempts to thrust a wedge in the army administration are condemned to failure," the minister said.
According to him, those rumors are often about the defense minister and the main headquarters of the Armed Forces, but "the ministry and the main headquarters of the Armed Forces always work closely together". "The relations with army administration are hinged on mutual trust, confidence and the supremacy of high human attributes."
The minister mentioned that it was an offense to hear views that soldiers who have participated in the war should be removed from the army. "Those soldiers who participated in the war and haven't been confirmed in the regular army have left the Armed Forces over time. However, some continue serving and most of them are more exemplary officers than many officers that have received military instruction," Seyran Ohanyan said.
He claimed that the army administration was the most interested in strictly punishing the real culprits. "If the families of any injured party have complaints about the process of the preliminary inquiry, the Ministry of Defense is ready to pay and is paying their lawyers so that we can reach the full revelation of the crimes through combined efforts."
"Whereas before I used to avoid it, now I deem it necessary to inform the people that those who boast of the army that is funded with their grants had the exclusive opportunity to show their patriotism during the Artsakh war. However, for some reason, we haven't seen those people on the battlefield," the Defense Minister said.
