Karen Karapetyan thanks everyone
Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan has posted a message on his Facebook wall, accounting his resignation for strictly personal reasons.
"I am tendering my resignation as I am going to assume another job. It was very difficult for me to make the decision and I assure you that the resignation is not politically motivated."
"I would like to thank the President, Republican Party of Armenia and the Council of Elders for the confidence entrusted in me which I tried to justify during my tenure of office. I am grateful to Yerevan citizens, the municipality staff, all agencies and organizations that supported our programs and undertakings. At the same time, I want to apologize for unfinished programs.
I love you very much. We still have a lot to do together and we are going to continue our programs for the sake of our beloved country and its capital," reads the message.
