Levon Zurabyan: “Wear warm clothes”
The ANC is ready to collaborate with all forces, including the PAP and individuals that are "ready to work together to destroy the bandit regime". This is what ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan announced today. "Any force that refuses to support this regime and starts fighting with the regime becomes the people's ally," Zurabyan said.
He didn't wish to comment on relations between the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) and mentioned: "One thing is clear-there is a serious crisis within Serzh Sargsyan's administration. I have trouble saying how long those processes will take. The Movement sees an anti-democratic revolt against Serzh Sargsyan's regime and Serzh Sargsyan's unconditional resignation as the only way to reinstate democracy in the country," Levon Zurabyan said.
According to him, it is impossible to overcome the political crisis in the country with the current regime and says evidence of that is the failed dialogue. "Negotiations between the regime and the opposition are the best way of making a smooth transition to democracy. The people win, and so does the regime, which manages to step down without any turbulence," Zurabyan said, adding that "there is no sense in negotiating with the authorities."
Zurabyan mentioned that the ANC isn't content with the pace of the struggle. "We aren't content, and the people aren't either, but we don't want to rush and fail."
He deemed it necessary to call the government's attention to the events taking place in Poland, Egypt and Libya. "When the regime uses up all of its methods for repression, at some moment, it starts releasing political prisoners and engaging in dialogue with the opposition under pressure of the nation. It worked in Poland. The people and the government agreed on holding snap parliamentary and presidential elections. In Poland, it took one or two years, but democracy was established in the end."
Zurabyan says the most brilliant example of dictators' resistance was the fate of former president of Libya Gadhafi.
How is the ANC preparing to demand Serzh Sargsyan's resignation? In response, Levon Zurabyan pledged to provide details at the ANC rally on October 28. Zurabyan also said he didn't rule out the start of round-the-clock sitting strike and advised everyone to wear warm clothes.
