Armenian MPs speak about NPP dispute
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun says it is incorrect to give a sharp and negative reply to the workers of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant.
Speaking about the workers' demand to raise their salaries by 50 percent and the government's subsequent response, ARF-D faction leader Vahan Hovhannisyan said, "I think our authorities should take their demands seriously since these people are protecting their rights."
Heritage faction MP Anahit Bakhshyan says the NPP employees are exercising their civil rights.
"I urge our government officials and plant administration to contemplate over the consequences before signing the resignations tendered by the plant workers," she said.
Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan says the possibilities to settle the dispute are already exhausted.
"I think that the administration will be able to meet the demands of those employees who ensure the flawless operation of the nuclear power plant," he said.
