"Artsakh is part of the Republic of Armenia and every Armenian living there has the same feelings and problems as we in Armenia," Leader of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union (YKM) Colonel Manvel Grigoryan said in the town of Yeghegnadzor during the opening ceremony of a memorial to the soldiers killed in the Karabakh war.

"In the last twenty years we have had many failures and shortcomings, but we have been able to gain the most valuable thing -independence," said Grigoryan.

Mushegh Babayan, head of the YKM office in Vayots Dzor province, said the victorious spirit of the Armenian people is unflinching.
"We must expand our traditional victories in order to populate part of our homeland, Nakhijevan, which is presently on the other side of the border, with residents of Vayots Dzor," he said.

During the ceremony, the YKM leader awarded local freedom fighters in the name of Armenian and NKR Presidents and RA Defense Minister.
YKM members also visited border villages as part of their pilgrimage to Vayots Dzor province.
