There is no military solution to Karabakh conflict
"The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot be solved in a military way," U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns said during a meeting with Azerbaijani journalists.
As an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country, the USA is ready to continue its efforts towards finding a peaceful and lasting settlement of the conflict, said the U.S. official.
Burns stressed that the ‘status quo' cannot be maintained as long as the conflict remains unsettled. He noted that his country attaches great importance to the regulation of the Karabakh conflict.
Burns also said that the conflict regulation had been the main topic of discussion during his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, The Voice of America reported.
William Burns visited the Caucasian region on October 16 on an official visit.
