Armenian National Congress coordinator Levon Zurabyan believes the authorities are not fulfilling the society's will by not meeting the Congress's demands.

In an interview with "A1+", Mr. Zurabyan touched upon the statement made by head of the coalition's working group for the ANC-authorities dialogue David Harutyunyan according to which the authorities are ready for dialogue, but aren't ready to ask for it.

"The authorities don't want to make any concession and can only resist social upheaval through violence," Zurabyan said.

Nevertheless, Zurabyan doesn't rule out the possible restart of dialogue.

"If they are ready to take steps for democracy, we can talk," the ANC coordinator said.

Zurabyan said the statement by "Country of Law" Party member Mher Shahgeldyan according to which the last 8-day rally showed that the ANC no longer has its previous political weight was totally nonsensical.

"If the authorities think we don't have political weight, why are they so afraid? Why do they close the roads? Why do they threaten the people?" he said, adding that the ANC would do everything possible to establish a legitimate government in Armenia.
