ANC will be the third force in parliament
The course of opposition-government relations is dictated by the authorities, according to political scientist Ervand Bozoyan.
The weeklong nonstop demonstrations staged by the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) in Yerevan's Liberty Square showed that ANC Leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan was right in his predictions - radical steps cannot settle the existing problems.
"But the ANC realized the truth at the expense of its reputation," stressed the political scientist.
Now the opposition blog should seek ways to resume the dialogue with the authorities as the ANC is no longer the master of situation as was the case in 2008 and in March-April 2011.
However, Bozoyan says the ANC has good chances to be represented in parliament.
"If the elections are held peacefully, the ANC will be the third force in the National Assembly," he said.
Speaking about the country's leadership, the political scientist said ‘the acting regime cannot smoothly ensure its reproduction given the grave socio-economic situation in Armenia.'
"The degree of dissatisfaction is difficult to predict now. Only during the elections can we reveal general public moods," he concluded.
