People express their gratitude to equilibrist
Addressing the participants of the round-the-clock rallies, Erwand Manaryan, Honored Art Worker of Armenia, spoke about ‘abesentees.'
"Those who do not attend the ANC rallies, are ashamed to walk past me in the street. Recently, a policeman came to shake hands with me. I understood that I am ferment like each of you who is struggling for his country's freedom," said the actor.
Further, Manaryan made an unexpected proposal.
"Equilibrist Vladimir Hakobyan, who is at the square, has published a booklet entitled "The famous Equilibrists of the XX Century." With your permission, I suggest bestowing the title of ‘folk artist' on Hakobyan."
The offer was accepted with loud applause.
"Throughout my life, I have come across three similar cases. One was in 1946 when the title was bestowed on Gurgen Avetyan, the other in 1970, when Zareh Ter-Karapetyan was awarded the title at the theatre. Liberty Square is the most democratic and reputable forum for granting genuine awards," said the distinguished actor. "This is a new approach, a new way to keep the society and I beleive that it is justified," he added.
