BHK is discontent
The Armenian parliament today discussed the draft amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, which concern the statute of the Council of Justice.

Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) MPs Ernest Soghomonyan and Vardan Bostanjyan sharply criticized the document. comparing it with one of Anderson's characters - The Naked King.
"Council meetings are meaningless, because the chairman of the Cassation Court has no right to ask questions," he explained.
Commenting on ‘dissenting opinion' Vardan Bostanjyan said that ‘institute of dissenting opinion' does not function properly in Armenia; it does not entail any consequences.
Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan opposed to the BHK MPs saying dissenting opinion' can have legal consequences.
"Certain types of liability, specifically suspension of judge's power, are the president's prerogatives, but he may take a decision based on dissenting opinions," he said.
