Serzh Sargsyan is grateful to Los Angeles
On September 26, Serzh Sargsyan participated in a reception in his honor by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaragosa during the working visit to the United States.
Sargsyan expressed gratitude for the warm reception and underlined that he took great pride in representing the Armenian people during the days of his visit to the United States.
The President's press office reports that Serzh Sargsyan mentioned that he was in a city where there is a "large sector of Armenians outside of Armenia" and expressed gratitude to the Los Angeles authorities, Mayor Antonio Villaragosa and all friends of the Armenian people for the warm and friendly attitude toward our compatriots.
"Hundreds of thousands of my compatriots have had the opportunity to live, develop freely and ensure their welfare by making their contributions to the achievements of the city and the United States," said Serzh Sargsyan and thanked the United States on behalf of the entire population of Armenia.
"Our friendship is eternal, and I am very pleased to see that U.S.-Armenian relations have grown in the past couple of years. You know, it is very strange that Armenia has a history spanning millennia, yet it is celebrating its 20th anniversary of independence. Armenia is a young democratic country, but has been guided by the ideas of democracy for 1,700 years. Its friends' support and our potential help us ensure advancement in our country," said Serzh Sargsyan.
Ending his working visit to the United States, Serzh Sargsyan paid a two-day official visit to France.
