PM meets Wilfred Martens
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received President of the People's Party of Europe Wilfred Martens.
According to the department of information and public relations, attending the meeting were RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan and Armenian Ambassador to Romania Hamlet Gasparyan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of granting the status of an observer to the Republican Party of Armenia within the People's Party of Europe and other issues of bilateral interest.
At the end, in response to journalists' questions, Wilfred Martens mentioned: "Four political parties have submitted applications to the People's Party of Europe for integration as observers. This week we have decided to invite the representatives of those parties to our upcoming assembly to be held on November 7 so that they can inform us about their integration and ambitions. After that meeting, we will take a decision on sending a Fact-Finding Group to Armenia. This means that the process of integration has launched."
