On September 19, Armenian Ambassador to Canada, Armen Yeganyan handed over his credentials to General Governor of Canada, David Jonston.

According to the MFA department of information and public relations, congratulating the Ambassador, the General Governor wished him success in his responsible act and expressed certainty that Armenia's Ambassador would contribute to further strengthening and deepening of Armenian-Canadian relations with his knowledge and experience in diplomacy.

"The Canadian government praises the growing federal and friendly relations with Armenia in different spheres. Our nations take pride in the advancement of cooperation in trade and culture. We expect to continue our consistent steps aimed at achieving our common goals in the international arena, particularly through Francophone," mentioned the General Governor.

During private talks held after the ceremony, the sides discussed Armenian-Canadian relations in the political, economic and cultural realms, as well as the development and expansion of the current friendly ties.

Ambassador Yeganyan expressed gratitude for the Canadian government's principled stance on the Armenian Genocide issue.
