HAK activists hold march in support of Tigran Arakelyan
Scores of young activists of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) marched through Yerevan's central streets demanding the release of detained HAK activist Tigran Arakelyan.
They HAK supporters also invited Yerevan citizens to attend the opposition's rally due in Yerevan on September 23.
"Let us say "no" to this kleptocratic regime through early parliamentary and presidential elections," shouted the marchers.
Commenting on the Prosecutor General's decision to remit the criminal case against the jailed opposition activist to the RA Special Investigation Service, Vladimir Karapetyan, a senior HAK member responsible for the Congress's external relations, said, "This is a political decision. From the very first day of their detention HAK activists demanded that the case be studied by the SIS. Only a month later did our officials understand it."
