Not everyone will receive deposits
The "Gyumri-1" and "Gyumri-2" social services have started compensating the deposits that Armenian citizens made in Soviet savings banks.
The government has allocated 1,600,000 drams for compensations. Citizens who had registered before 2005 and have been receiving benefits for a year will receive compensation. The government has decided not to give compensation to those citizens who had made deposits in foreign banks.
Citizens who aren't registered for benefits won't receive compensation either. As for the depositors' inheritors, they won't be given any compensation. However, there is an exception. If the depositor had registered before 2006 and died on the day when the amount was already transferred to his or her account, the inheritor will receive the depositor's money.
