Gagik Jhangiryan: “Serious people stand behind clashes”
"The legitimacy of the authorities will be in question, as long as the disgraceful events of March 1, 2008 are uncovered," Armenia's former military prosecutor Gagik Jhangiryan said speaking at the opposition rally on Friday.
He says the deadly clashes are not disclosed since ‘serious people stand behind them.'
"The truth is concealed due to the efforts of the authorities.The authorities' efforts to discover the March 2008 events are a mere imitation," said Jhangiryan reminding that the army was engaged in the March 1 clashes; three peaceful demonstrators were killed by bullets shot by soldiers.
In conclusion, the former military prosecutor said it is necessary to identify and punish the perpetrator of the murders to exclude the repetition of the bloody clashes.
