The Democratic Party of Armenia believes the current authorities, including the President, the Government and the ruling party "are in two kinds of situations".

The DPA today issued a statement in which it is stated: "Although the old social-economic system of the country required capital reformation, the reforms were cosmetic and deceived the society, which demanded turning changes."

"If the government truly wanted to "get on the good side" of the people, they had to directly engage in dialogue with the society to clarify (if it isn't aware) of its demands and give operative solutions to the issues. What's more, after being called on and dictated by centers that are in the role of international "arbitrers", the government is just creating a "smokescreen" for democracy in a poor country, just to free itself from the people's wrath, which is justified," as stated in the statement.

The Democrats have come to the conclusion that the politically maturing Armenian society can no longer tolerate unfair elections through falsehood, electoral bribes, administrative resources and criminal elements, and "as an ideological opposition", the party declares that "our objective will be to organize and lead a people's unified movement."
