Armenia to participate in Universiada
RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan today had a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Armenia Tian Xiaxun.
The minister informed that much has been done for computer rearmament in schools in the past two years and now the relationship between students and computers is near the average indicator of European countries.
The minister also mentioned that computer rearmament in high schools through China's support may have an important impact on ensuring the quality of education.
In the context of expansion of cooperation in the sphere of education, the minister and the Ambassador discussed the possibility of opening another branch of the Confucius Institute at Yerevan State University, as well as organizing advanced instruction of Chinese language in one of the high schools in Yerevan.
In the end, the minister informed that Armenia would officially participate in the 26th World Student Universiada to be held in the Chinese city of Shenzhen in August and that the student federation's team is well prepared for the competitions. Ashotyan expressed hope that Armenia's student-athletes would achieve success, particularly in chess and tae kwon do.
