Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Armenia Chalermpol Tanchit (seat in Moscow) handed over his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan.

Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador on the occasion of starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia and wished him success. Serzh Sargsyan reaffirmed Armenia's interest in developing and reinforcing the multifaceted relations with the Kingdom of Thailand. "Our two countries have had diplomatic relations for the past 20 years, and in that period there have been high-level mutual visits and some efforts for the reinforcement of bilateral relations.

We are willing and interested in continuing the development of the political dialogue, as well as trade, economic and cultural relations with the Kingdom of Thailand," said Serzh Sargsyan.

The sides attached importance to the formation of a juridical-contractual field, which will promote the development of relations not only between governments, but in the private sector as well.

Ambassador Chalermpol Tanchit mentioned that his next visit to Yerevan will be in September to participate in the celebration dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenia's independence. Tanchit also mentioned that he intends to visit with a delegation comprised of Thai cultural figures and that he has already taken certain steps for cooperation in the cultural sphere.
