HAK will be listener in the talks
The long-awaited dialogue between the Armenian authorities and opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) is set to start on July 18.
"HAK delegates will assume the role of listener in the talks, trying to understand the goal and mission of the ruling coalition's working group," said the secretary of People's Party of Armenia (HZhK) Felix Khachatryan.
He reiterated the opposition's key demand and readiness to negotiate with representatives of Serzh Sargsyan over the organization and conduct of snap elections.
"As we said earlier, we are ready to talk with delegates of the executive power authorized by Serzh Sargsyan. However, we shall go to the meeting out of basic decency and respect and listen to the opinion of the working group, "said Felix Khachatryan.
Earlier in July, the coalition parties formed a working group consisting of two members from each party to negotiate with the opposition. The group includes David Harutyunyan (Republican Party of Armenia), Gagik Minasyan (Republican Party of Armenia), Naira Zohrabyan (Prosperous Armenia Party), Vardan Bostanjyan (Prosperous Armenia Party), Mher Shahgeldyan (Country of Law Party) and Khachik Harutyunyan (Country of Law Party).
HAK delegation includes Levon Zurabyan, David Shahnazaryan, Vahagn Khachatryan, Felix Khachatryan and Manvel Abrahamyan.
The meeting will start at 4:00 at the Erebuni Plaza.
