The Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units is holding its subsequent plenary session in Armenia.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received representatives of Egmont Group headed by president Boudwin Verhelst.

"Armenia has taken serious steps, and we are certain that the RA Central Bank's finance monitoring center currently corresponds to the best international standards. The Armenian authorities have always paid much attention to money-laundering issues, and Armenia has always had a good reputation from that angle," said Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

During its plenary session, the group will touch upon the current challenges, as well as the perspectives of creating a unified network for international cooperation in the fight against money-laundering and funding for terrorism, as well as the exchange of information.

Egmont Group was established in 1995 with the purpose of forming a unified platform of cooperation for Financial Intelligence Units of different states to fight against money-laundering and funding for terrorism. The group currently consists of Financial Intelligence Units of nearly 120 countries.
