Sargsyan promised to present response shortly
Serzh Sargsyan received Russian Foreign Minster Sergei Lavrov, who has arrived in Armenia to convey a message of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Armeian leader Serzh Sargsyan.
Serzh Sargsyan hailed the efforts of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, USA and France - aimed at the resolution of the Karabakh issue and establishment of peace and stability in the region.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation for continued support and reiterated Armenia's interest in achieving speedy progress in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. He noted that the Armenian side would study thoroughly proposals of President Medvedev and would present its response shortly.
"We want the problem to be solved and solved in a way which will bring ultimate peace and stability to the region," President Serzh Sargsyan said during the meeting.
Sergei Lavrov noted that President Dmitry Medvedev is genuinely interested in a successful conclusion of the process and is confident that there is every prerequisite for reaching agreement.
