Funding already provided for accelerators

Official

The Armenian government has signed a corresponding agreement with the Belgian government and has received funding to build a state-of-the-art accelerator, which will help form an oncology center that will use the produced isotopes.

This is what Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan announced during the 3rd International Assembly of Armenian Doctors.

It will be a state-of-the-art center with roughly 50 million dollars in investments.

"Through this program, we intend to invite private investors so that the program ends through the cooperation between the state and private sectors. What's also important is that Armenia has serious potential of intellectuals in the sphere of physics, which gives the country the opportunity to exploit that accelerator. That is one of Armenia's relative advantages in science, and we believe this cooperation between doctors and physics will lead to positive results," the Prime Minister said.

The assembly has brought together 600 doctors from Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora.
