“Prosecutor General is behind the murders”

Social

Despite the heat, there was still a lot of people standing in front of the government building today. The same people were there with the same demands, and there are more and more new people gathering every time.

Today Artsakh war participant, disabled person Samvel Mikayelyan's wife Gyulizar Hovakimyan was near the government building for the first time. The government continues to delay the issue of allocating an apartment for the freedom fighter, saying that they had to have been citizens of Yerevan for over 10 years before the war.

Gyulizar Hovakimyan says they have been living in Yerevan for 14 years and have all the documents to prove that. Those enlising people in line for apartments have demanded that the war veteran receive consent from Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. Seeing that she wasn't receiving any response, Mrs. Hovakimyan came to the government building with the hope of seeing the prime minister.

"They say today or tomorrow, but the issue remains unsolved. My husband declared a hunger strike on May 18 to solve the issue once and for all. The Defense Ministry officials came and promised to solve the issue in a month, but now they ask for consent from the prime minister," Mrs. Hovakimyan told "A1+".

Gyulizar Hovakimyan wasn't able to see the prime minister today either.

As every Thursday, the parents of soldiers who died in peace were also gathered near the government building. Tigran Ohanjanyan's mother Gohar Sargsyan said Serzh Sargsyan had promised to solve the issue once and for all six months ago, but the issue remains unsolved, even after the military prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan announced that the site of the incident had been falsified.

"He believed in that statement and that is why no progress has been made. Today we will go to Serzh Sargsyan's residence and demand an answer. I can declare that they are not revealing my son's case because they are the ones that committed the crime" Gohar Sargsyan said.

"Heritage" MP Zaruhi Postanjyan was standing by the demonstrators today. She noted that if several cases were revealed and the real culprits were punished, there would be less incidents like this in the army.

"I can definitely say that what is happening in the army is a result of the officers' improper behavior for which the officers are not punished, and the RA Prosecutor General is behind all this," Zaruhi Postanjyan told "A1+".
