Farewell to musician today and tomorrow
The government has created a state commission on the occasion of the death of renowned organ player Vahagn Stamboltsyan. The commission is headed by RA Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan.
The commission reports that Vahagn Stamboltsyan's requiem will be held today starting at 18:00 at st. Gevorg Church. The last farewell will be held on July 8 from 12:00 to 14:00 at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall, and the funeral will take place at the Sovetashen cemetery in Yerevan.
Vahagn Stamboltsyan was the first to place organs in Armenia, as well as the first to perform and spread organ music. He was a republican, an All-Union, member and president of reputable contest and festival committees and contributed to the development of music life with his impartial evaluations. Vahagn Stamboltsyan had just turned 80.
