“What about the next meeting?”
President of the political council of Republic Party ("Hanrapetutyun") Aram Z. Sargsyan mentioned that the Artsakh issue has been on Armenia's main political agenda for the past 23 years, and the HAK-authorities dialogue has been on the agenda for the past three years.
"Both issues are collateral to Armenia's democratization. It will take time to solve both issues because speedy decisions can endanger the process," said Sargsyan, adding that the solution to both issues depends on the people's will.
He mentioned that after the meeting in Kazan, the society, especially the authorities are only saying, "they got through this one, too".
"What about the next meeting? What if the proposal is not the one Armenia wants? What should we do to make sure that the President of Armenia doesn't announce that Armenia doesn't recognize the NKR's independence because it recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity at the PACE?" said Aram Sargsyan and criticized Serzh Sargsyan's "extremely peace-making" stance.
"He says Azerbaijan is more ready for the war than the Armenians. They (the authorities-ed.) aren't ready to fight. They weren't ready back then either, but the people were and they won. They say Baku has many arms. You don't win with arms, but with the spirit," said Sargsyan.
Touching upon inter-political issues, Sargsyan mentioned that the authorities have become detached from the society. They aren't taking into account how the people will perceive their words and actions and emphasized that only the dialogue through envoys can weaken the tension.
