Meeting with envoy
The heads and representatives of the U.S. delegation and the corresponding departments of Armenia held a meeting at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the implementation of the "Plan of Joint Actions in the Fight against Smuggling of Nuclear and Radioactive Substances" signed between the U.S. and Armenian governments on 14 July 2008.
The U.S. delegation was led by United States State Department Special Envoy for the Fight against Nuclear Smuggling, Michael Stafford.
The meeting began with a welcoming speech by RA Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Kirakossian who wished the participants effective discussions on the work that had been completed and the programs to be implemented in the future.
The representatives of the Armenian departments gave detailed presentations of the process of activities foreseen in the action plan. It was also mentioned that Armenia was the first country to present the work completed in this sphere at a high level.
