“If people rise up, they will change everything”
The next rally of the opposition alliance Armenian National Congress (HAK) is set for June 30.
A1+ has tried to find out whether residents of Tavush Marz will attend the HAK rally.
"Justice in Armenia is in a sorrowful condition. We, the youth, are to determine the future of our country. With our presence and heartfelt devotion we want to show our support for the HAK," said Arayik, a citizen of Ijevan City.
Beglar Pashinyan says he never misses opposition's rallies though he notes that many people are not informed about them.
"Soon we shall get rid of the despotic government," said Tatul Atabekyan.
"Rallies will produce results and better the system of governance," said Shaliko Sargsyan.
A resident of Dilijan city complained of media saying they do not inform the locals about opposition's rallies.
"Dilijan citizens are not aware of anything. We do not watch Armenian channels as they do not give full coverage of events," she said and added in a lower voice, "But I know everything because I am an ardent oppositionist. My son attends all opposition rallies."
When asked about the change in the voice, her companion said, "She is speaking in a whisper because they silence us. The city authorities are given freedom in their actions and local people do not dare express their opinion. But if people rise up, they will change everything."
