Last evening, the sub-committee on the Karabakh conflict held its first session without the participation of the Armenian delegation, but the Co-Rapporteurs on Armenia did participate in the session.

Member of the Armenian delegation Armen Rustamyan told "A1+" that the Armenian delegation has stated its position. "If they try to take a decision without our participation, that will be an absolute breach of not only ethical norms, but also all approaches according to which conflicts must be resolved. It will mean that Armenia's concerns are justified, and that Cavusoglu is doing everything possible to affirm resolutions that will help them have an impact on the current processes of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution."

According to Armen Rustamyan, the sub-committee will not function in this format.

"The sub-committee wasn't able to achieve serious success even when Armenian was part of the sub-committee, much less now when they adopt resolutions and make them refer to the conflicting sides."

Nevertheless, if such a decision is taken, the Armenian side will declare that neither Armenia nor the NKR participated in the adoption of the resolution and that Armenia can't take on any responsibility for fulfillment.
"We should have done the same for Resolution 1416. Unfortunately, Armenia made that resolution legitimate through our nominal participation," said the MP.

Naira Zohrabyan added that the sub-committee's objective is to do everything possible to engage the Armenian side in the committee's activities. "Their objective is to introduce a resolution on the NK conflict to the bureau by the end of the year or in January. Cavusoglu would like to leave that perverse, anti-Armenian resolution when he leaves, and the sub-committee wants to do everything possible to legitimize that resolution."

Won't the resolution be legitimate? In response, Naira Zohrabyan said: "We can claim that the Armenian side didn't take part in the sub-committee's activities and is in no way preparing to take on legal responsibility for fulfillment of its part of that resolution."

Zohrabyan also informed that chairman of the sub-committee Khugla y Costa once declared thath the sub-committee's objective is to present a resolution on the NK conflict by the end of this year.

Will there be sanctions against Armenia for not fulfilling the resolution? In response, Naira Zohrabyan denied that with confidence.
