Incumbent UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon today will be reelected since he is the only candidate running for this office.
Ban Ki-Moon had been nominated by the UN Security Council on June 17 and had received the votes of delegates of nearly all member states.
South Korean Foreign Minister, Trade Minister Ban Ki-Moon was first elected UN Secretary General in 2006 and his term was going to end on December 31, 2011.
Ban Ki-Moon was born on June 13, 1944 in Chkhunchkhon-Pukto state of South Korea.
