State Duma ratifies Protocol
The Russian State Duma today ratified the Protocol signed by Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev on August 20, 2010. According to the Protocol, the period for allocating Russian military bases in Armenia has been extended to 2039, reports the official website of the State Duma.
In addition to the extension of the period for the allocation of Russian military bases in Armenia, in the Protocol it is stated that Russia will ensure Armenia's security along with the RA Armed Forces. The Protocol also prescribes that Russia will provide Armenia with state-of-the-art arms, as well as military and special equipment.
Let us remind that the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the Protocol on April 12, 2011.
