"Armenia is in our hearts"
Serzh Sargsyan today met French Minister in charge of Cooperation, Henri de Raincourt.
Greeting the guest, Serzh Sargsyan said: "France has a special place in Armenia's foreign policy agenda. Therefore, Armenia is constantly interested in the reinforcement and deepening of our relations. This is linked to our centuries-old historical ties, the symathy existing between our peoples and the fact of France's being a weighty player in international politics, and finally the existence of a large French-Armenian community."
Henri de Raincourt expressed gratitude for the warm reception and mentioned : "Armenia is always in our hearts, since every day we communicate with Armenians living in France, who are the bearers of two cultures and civilizations and who remind us of Armenians' sufferings, as well as their capability of rising again."
The interlocutors praised the relations between both countries, emphasizing the regular high-level political dialogue, the close and effective inter-parliamentary cooperation, the presence of a wide juridical-contractual field, close cultural and educational ties, the presence of French companies in the Armenian market and the successfully developing decentralized cooperation. The participants of the meeting agreed that one of the priorities of of bilateral relations was the development of trade-economic ties, the growth of commodity turnover and the intensification of contacts between the circles of businessmen of both countries.
The sides also discussed a broad range of issues related to Armenia-European Union relations.
