Today, former residents of Movses Khorenatsi hostel N1 of Etchmiadzin city held a protest near the presidential residence.

"On Easter Day, we wished to talk with Serzh Sargsyan in Etchmiadzin, but we weren't allowed. After the last protest, only two workers came and now they want to renovate the entire building," says action participant Dukhik Movsisyan.

Twenty-six families, that is, 70 residents have been left out on the streets for a year now. The residents were given three days to vacate their apartments for fortification and renovation of the building, but there has not been any work in the building to this day.

"The construction was supposed to have ended within 7-8 months, but how are two workers going to finish renovation of our building in that period? How much longer can they lie?" says former resident of the hostel, Aghavni Ghazaryan.

The numerous protests held in front of the presidential residence have been fruitless. According to the residents, "when they ask Serzh Sargsyan's Control Department Chief Hovhannes Hovsepyan whether the building will be given to the residents as an apartment building or hostel, he replies that he doesn't know how it will be given. We are not given any concrete answer."

The participants of the action fear that their apartments have already been sold.
