According to the 2010 Revision of World Population Prospects, the 7 billionth person will be born on October 31, 2011.
These are the official prospects of the United Nations prepared by the Population Division of the UN Social-Economic Affairs Department.
On this occasion, the UN Population Fund will organize a series of events to mark World Population Day on July 11.
The UNPF and its partners, including National Geographic, will start a campaign to discuss issues regarding a world with 7 billion people on social networks.
The UNPF envisages starting a 7-day countdown starting from UN Day on October 24 until the birth of the 7 billionth person a week later.
The World Population Report will be released this year. It will analyze the challenges and opportunities of a world with a population of 7 billion people.
