Doesn’t want them to scream “Tigran, Tigran”
The opposition is replenished with ministers and prime ministers. That is not an opposition, but a team. They are facing off and have the desire to replace one another. I would like to let the people know that the HHSh is coming to power and that they should be happy."
This is what leader of the "People's Party" Tigran Karapetyan said today during the second congress of the Union of Popular-Democratic Forces at the government sessions hall.
The gathered were distributed flyers with the union council's declaration stating that there is a need for deepening and expanding relations with Russia to ensure the country's economic stability.
In his speech, Tigran Karapetyan said he wouldn't like to have the people scream "Tigran, Tigran", but "Homeland".
"The union doesn't have a specific leader, but it does have a coordinating council. We're demanding for the people," Tigran Karapetyan told journalists.
Tigran Karapetyan also touched upon the amnesty that was adopted today and said it wouldn't change anything.
"That is due to an agreement with the ANC. The government should adopt a format to keep its image. If another clash takes place, there will be new political prisoners. The ANC didn't solve that issue. It just solved the issue for the team."
Tigran Karapetyan said the negotiations between the authorities and the ANC are anti-national because they are behind closed doors.
