“The minister had his reasons”
"If the Ministry of Justice were content with Mariam Gaboyan's work, the staff at the notary wouldn't change," this is what RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Grigor Muradyan told "A1+" as he touched upon the activities of the recently disbanded notary office and its former chief Mariam Gaboyan.
On May 19, Minister of Justice Hrair Tovmasyan disbanded the MJ notary division and sent Mariam Gaboyan and her two employees to the short-term reserve of the cadre department.
Will Mariam Gaboyan be called back? Mr. Muradyan said that would be determined based on whether she could work as a supervisor or an employee of a different subdivision.
Why didn't Minister Tovmasyan meet with Mariam Gaboyan and hear her reasons? In response, Grigor Muradyan said the minister had his reasons for not meeting with her.
Today the First Deputy Minister of Justice presented the government with the draft resolution on confirming the prices for paid services provided by the notary office. The purpose of the draft resolution is, according to Muradyan, to change the amounts and order of payment by taking into account the intricacy of the deal and the notary office's responsibility.
Muradyan promised that there would not be any price changes and that the lists would be posted at the offices. "Let's be a little patient and the notary offices will work better," said Muradyan.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan added that this draft resolution was one of the steps aimed at raising the quality of notary services. "I regret to say that the results of our monitoring are not satisfying. We should fix the situation as soon as possible," said the Prime Minister.
