An incident broke out between the activists of the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) and adherents of the Republican Party in Yerevan's Ajapnyak district after HAK activists started vociferating, "Levon, President!"

HAK activists today distributed flyers in the district informing about the opposition's May 31 rally. They were also prohibited from using megaphones to inform about the date and venue.

HAK is going to rally its supporters in Yerevan's Liberty Square on May 31. Editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak daily Nikol Pashinyan and former parliamentarian Sasun Mikaelyan are expected to make speeches at the meeting.
Both of them are currently in prison in connection with the March 2008 events.
