ANC representative met with EU Ambassadors
On May 19, Armenian National Congress coordinator Levon Zurabyan met with EU Representative to Armenia, the Ambassadors of Great Britain, France, the Netherlands and Sweden, as well as the representatives of the embassies of several EU-member countries to Armenia, reported the ANC press service.
During the meeting, the main topic of discussion was the inter-political state ahead of the upcoming elections, the directions for overcoming the political and socio-economic crisis in the country, the holding of free, fair and legitimate elections and the opportunity to hold special state elections.
Levon Zurabyan presented the EU diplomats with the process of the authorities' fulfillment of the three demands presented by the Armenian National Congress and expressed confidence that on May 31, there would be prerequisites for starting a dialogue with an agenda to form a legitimate government through special elections.
Zurabyan mentioned that commissioning an international observatory mission with support from the EU and EU-member countries and having at least one permanent representative in each of the 2,000 polling stations would be one of the major guarantees for holding fair and transparent elections.
During the discussion, the sides analyzed the heavy socio-economic state in Armenia, the need for destroying the defective monopolist and oligarchic system and the vital need for reinstating the interests of small and medium businesses and rural economies.
