May 26: Last Class
The last class of the academic year will be held in all schools nationwide on the last Thursday of May, that is, May 26.
As Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations at the RA Ministry of Education and Science Artur Baghdasaryan told "A1+", even though there will not be a last class for high school students this year ("Last Bell"), Yerevan Municipality and the RA Ministry of Education and Science are currently holding discussions to organize festivities in schools and communities.
Let us remind that there will not be any high school graduates this year. According to changes made in the RA law "On Public Education" in 2006, there was a transition to a three-year high school starting in the 2009-2010 academic year. Whereas students graduated through the 11-year system last year, next year the 12th grade will be considered the graduating year.
According to Artur Baghdasaryan, even though there will be no "Last Bell" this year, school principals and headmasters will hold the last class of the year.
