HAK’s next rally in Liberty Square
The Yerevan Municipality has accepted the application of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) to hold a rally and ensuing march in Liberty Square on May 31, Gagik Baghdasaryan, a senior official of the municipality, told A1+.
The decision was later placed on the wall on a conspicuous place.
Baghdasaryan says the municipality did not hold discussions on the opposition's application as the document did not contain any disputable provisions.
Note that on May 11the HAK submitted another request with the Mayor's Office, which, according to the municipal authorities, did not comply with the new law on assemblies. Under the law, an application for rallies will no longer be discussed with the parties; the municipality is empowered to make the decision alone.
