Armenian-German consultations held in Yerevan

Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Germany took place in Yerevan today.

The Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Karine Ghazinyan. The German delegation was headed by Patricia Flour, the German Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The parties discussed issues related to the political dialogue between Armenia and Germany, the trade-economic and cultural cooperation, as well as the collaboration within international organizations. Reference was made to the cooperation of Armenian and German forces within the framework of the International Security Force in Afghanistan.

The Armenian side presented its stance on a number of regional issues.

The parties discussed the current stage and perspectives of Armenia-EU cooperation. Special attention was paid to the negotiations on the Association Agreement. The Armenian side emphasized the necessity of taking steps towards facilitation of the visa regime.

An agreement was reached on holding the next Armenian German consultations in Berlin in 2012.
