Parade on Moscow's central square

A military parade dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in the 1941-45 Great Patriotic War was held on Moscow's Red Square on Monday, May 9.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, this year's parade will involve about 20,000 servicemen and cadets and 100 pieces of military hardware.

Russian President, Prime Minister and other high-ranking officials participated in the event.

Serzh Sargsyan today sent congratulatory messages to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
